Interesting Trends Towards Human Understanding of Life

Craig Venter is working on creating the simplest living cell possible by eliminating all
“unnecessary” genetic material from the DNA of a simple microbe.  

Changing worldviews:
Leroy Hood is currently writing a book that describes biology as a digital science.  Apparently
DNA is now to be perceived as a computer program.  

Convergences:
According to GM head of R&D, transportation and energy are merging.  He wants to use
hydrogen as the storage and means of transportation of energy as well as the fuel for
automotive transportation.

Lucian Huges, Research Director at Accenture Technology Laboratories now refers to robots as
“Living Systems.”  I was happy to see others with my worldview
