Most Charity is a Waste of Time and Money

The best thing that you can do for yourself and others it to invest your money wisely, with the hope of
real profit.  Profits are the only things that tell you with reasonable certainty that you are actually adding
value.

Think someone who gives money to the Red Cross or Save the Whales or to fix the cleft plalates of poor
people must be doing good?
Not so.  How does anything have value?  Things don't have value in and of themselves.  They are given
value by willing buyers and sellers.  If no one wants a Hula-Hoop, it has no value.

But what if he were to say:
"If no one wants
to have their cleft palate fixed, it has no value."

Oops.

The book needs a rewrite.
