Cloud Robotics using JavaROS and Smart Phones

SmartPhones have gyroscopes, acellerometers, GPS, touch screens, magnetometers, flash
memory, processors and access to the cloud.

The July/August issue of Robot magazine describes what it calls the next generation of the
personal robot called AIMEC:4. At about the same time that the issue describing AIMEC arrived,
Google and Willow Garage announced JavaROS, a Java compatible version of the Robot
Operating System as well as cloud connectivity. Using this software, one can easily demonstrate
one Android SmartPhone displaying the image being photographed by the camera on a second
Androd SmartPhone.
